Web Editor quickstart

The Web Editor creates and edits Eidos Files directly in your browser. It does not require installation or an account.

1. Open editor.eidos.space.

2. Choose New for a blank file, Open for an existing .eidos file, or open the bundled sample first.

3. Add records, fields, tables, or views. Double-click a Grid cell or press

   Enter to edit it.

4. Use Save to update a directly opened file. If the browser cannot keep a writable file handle, use Save As or Download a copy.

Know which copy you are editing

Chromium-based browsers can usually write back to a file after you grant permission. Other browsers import a working copy and require Save As or a download. The editor shows the current save state in its titlebar.

What stays local

File bytes, SQLite queries, and edits remain on the device. The editor keeps a browser-private recovery copy for unsaved work where supported; that recovery copy is not a substitute for saving or backing up the .eidos file.
