Sync a phone and computer over LAN
Pair your phone and computer
Section titled “Pair your phone and computer”- Connect both devices to the same local network, such as your home Wi-Fi. Keep Eidos Lite running and the mobile app open in the foreground. Allow local network permissions when prompted.
- On the computer, open the Space’s Sync panel and select LAN sync. Enable the computer’s LAN service if prompted.
- Choose to pair a new device and display its pairing code. You can also pair without an open Space under Settings → Devices.
- On the phone, open Sync and select Scan QR Code. You can also choose Use pairing code and enter the code manually.
- When the phone shows Waiting for approval, check the device name and accept the request on the computer.
If the approval dialog is in the background, open Eidos Lite through its notification. Pairing codes expire after five minutes. Generate a new code if the request expires or fails.
Pairing grants access only to the Spaces you share explicitly. Transfers use encrypted connections tied to the paired device identity.
Make a Space available and download it
Section titled “Make a Space available and download it”- Open the Space in Eidos Lite.
- Open Sync → LAN sync and share this Space with the paired devices when prompted.
- On the phone, open Sync and select the paired computer. Under This computer’s Spaces, select Download beside the Space.
- Wait for the initial download to finish. The app adds the Space to Files, where you can use it offline.
- Open a known note or record and check an attachment before you start work.
The phone stores a separate local copy. An interrupted first download does not show as a ready Space. Retry the download from the Sync page. To share another Space, enable it on the computer and download it on your phone. You do not need to pair the devices again.
Some transferred files require desktop features. The phone preserves these files even when it cannot open or edit them.
A shared Space remains available while Eidos Lite runs in the background. Closing the application stops sharing. When you restart Eidos Lite, it restores the enabled LAN service and available shared Spaces. Explicitly stopping the LAN service disables that restoration until you enable it again. The application preserves your authorized device list.
Synchronize changes in both directions
Section titled “Synchronize changes in both directions”You start LAN sync manually from the phone. Saving locally does not send edits to the other device automatically.
- Finish your edits and save the file.
- On the phone, open Sync, select the computer, and tap Sync beside the Space.
- Keep both devices connected until the sync finishes. Check the progress indicator and last sync time shown by the app.
- Open the changed file on the other device to check its contents.
For your first test, edit a note on your computer. Start a sync from your phone and check the note there. Then edit the note on your phone, sync again, and check the note on your computer. The online indicator only reports network connectivity. Wait for the sync progress to complete before you edit files again.
Offline work, interruptions, and conflicts
Section titled “Offline work, interruptions, and conflicts”You can edit downloaded files offline. When both devices connect to the local network again, start a sync from the phone. Select Stop sync to cancel an active transfer. Do not delete the local Space to resolve transfer issues.
The computer merges non-conflicting edits automatically. If both devices edited the same record, the phone keeps its local files. The phone prompts you to resolve the conflict in the computer’s Sync panel. Resolve the conflict on the computer, then sync again from the phone. Edits made on your phone while waiting are included in the next sync.
For connection errors, see LAN troubleshooting.
Stop sharing or unpair a device
Section titled “Stop sharing or unpair a device”- Open Sync → LAN sync and stop sharing to make only this Space unavailable.
- Turn off LAN Service in Settings → Devices to stop all sharing. Device pairings remain saved.
- Select Unpair on either device to revoke access. Unpairing preserves downloaded files and history. Reconnecting requires a new pairing process.
